IDDSI

What is the IDDSI?

The IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) framework provides common terminology to describe drink and food thickness.

The framework is used across the world to support people who experience chewing and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).

Why choose IDDSI meals from Made For You?

Made For You Softer Foods have ensured that their range of meals cover the most regularly recommended levels by speech and language therapists.

The Made For You range offers breakfast, lighter bites, main and mini meals as well as desserts for the following:

IDDSI Level 4 Puréed diet, IDDSI Level 5 Minced & moist diet,  IDDSI Level 6 Soft and Bite-Sized diet.

The word 'diet’ simply indicates that it relates to food. It does not mean that the person with dysphagia is 'on a diet’.

If you or someone you know is currently recommended one of these levels, we’ve provided a useful summary of what it should look like and how we have tested it to meet the IDDSI framework.
